Good beach places, plenty of tourist stuff. However the best one is just south of there Jekyll Island, has wonderful hotels, bike trails, shops, interesting history, horses etc... not the greatest if you want to spend the day at the beach though. Check the Savannah Civic Center for events in town. Historic downtown Savannah is nice too... they offer walking tours, as well as a night time "ghost tour". There are a few tourist plantations in the area as well. In the summer in Statesboro Georgia there is a nice waterpark, not very expensive, but fun for the family. Keeps costs down. "Splash in the boro" A good resturant in Richmond hill is the "Upper crust" doesn't look like much from the outside but the food is excellent. Hilton Head, or Tybee Island…. once it’s warm out. Excellent beach places, plenty of tourist stuff. However, the big draws for me in those places are the historic districts, and I'm not sure if kids would appreciate that. How about Six Flags in Atlanta? There's plenty of shopping you can do to keep them entertained, plus the movies. Or you can see if you can get tickets to a Braves game or some minor league game. There's also Hilton Head Island, SC, but I've never been there. When are you going? Savannah and Charleston get super hot in the summer so be forewarned. Have fun wherever you go! This was once a challenge, but with the new luxury 3 bedroom condos at TPC, the trip is perfect. Just across Highway 17 is Brookgreen Gardens. This is a nature sculpture gardens unlike anything else in the state. The entire gardens are in bloom right now and it is just beautiful. Alligators sleep in the mid day sun, osprey, ducks, sea gull, and sea turtle are all living in their natural environment. Bring your bike, because trails abound.
