  1. Tennessee is fantastic, I live in Memphis. We visited Charleston, SC last week and had a lot of fun. Much much history there. We liked Colonial Williamsburg and that area and Washington, DC.
Our favorite getaway is Hot Springs, AR. About 2.5-3 hours west of Memphis. Stay at the Arlington. Do the whole bath, massage, spa treatment, and then wander up and down the main strip. Fantastic food and fun shopping. There is a jazz combo that plays in the lobby of the Arlington thrusday through sunday. Everyone dances. Drinks on the Veranda in the afternoon. Also have horse racing during racing season. Lakes for those who like the outdoors.

  2. well myrtle beach is basically the same as gatlinburg which is right next to pigeon forge i just went there it’s not a fantastic vacation spot it has a ton of ripleys believe it not which personally i dont find exciting but there is a thing with dolly and her amusement park which i hear is excellent and her dixie showdown we went there and it was the best part of our trip you should look into that, i know you dont want to drive all the way to florida but this place called sanibel is wonderful i just got back and it really was an simple and fun vacation, make sure you buy oranges and key lime pie!!!, North carolina has some really excellent places the mtns or the beach but now would be sorta cold and hatteras is fun especially to drive in savannah georgia there are a few places there that i went to theres an urban outfitters which your daughtter might like and then theres paula deens restaurant which is surprisingly not that excellent but i hear her uncle or cousin or somethin has a restaurant down there and is a lot better, i have never been to maine but i hear its gorgeous and you must get the lobster, six flags africa is also a excellent stop if you end up going to georgia on ur way down its really fun and a excellent stop along the way, if you like skiing there are tons of places in vermont, i hope this helps you and i know how hard it is to pick somepplace that is fun and not too expensive have a excellent time on ur trip but tally where ur family wants to go skiing, city, amusement park, beach, regular town
