We visited Charleston, SC last week and had a lot of fun. Much much history there. We liked Colonial Williamsburg and that area and Washington, DC. Our favorite getaway is Hot Springs, AR. About 2.5-3 hours west of Memphis. Stay at the Arlington. Do the whole bath, massage, spa treatment, and then wander up and down the main strip. Great food and fun shopping. There is a jazz combo that plays in the lobby of the Arlington thrusday through sunday. Everyone dances. Drinks on the Veranda in the afternoon. Also have horse racing during racing season.
