Cool things to do in Georgia?


I am thinking of vacationing around the Savannah and Tybee Island area. Any suggestions of where to travel? eat? things to do?

  2. Savannah is truly a uniquely gorgeous American city. :-)
    Savannah is just 4-hour drive from Atlanta and 2 hours from Jacksonville, Florida.
    Fantastic Weather,Savannah has a mild sub-tropical climate that makes outdoor activities possible 365 days a year. Temperatures range from an average of 49 degrees in January to abaout 92 degrees in July. Savannah is a melting pot of cultures, with significant Irish, Italian, Greek, Chinese, Vietnamese, and Hispanic populations. It hosts one of the world’s largest St. Patrick’s Day Parades.
    River Street is one of the most well loved Savannah,and Savannah has an incredible collection of gorgeous ancient buildings, huge trees draped with Spanish Moss, and lovely flowers.There are trolly tours through the historic downtown and there is a ton of gorgeous parks with fountains everywhere. the nightlife is pretty excellent. Just a few miles away is Tybee Island beach and is a excellent area.
    The Talmadge Memorial Bridge is a cable-stayed suspension bridge that spans the Savannah River between Savannah, Georgia and South Carolina is very nice. :-)
    You can to see Chippewa Square, where Forrest Gump sat on the bus bench with his box of chocolates,but the bench is now in the museum at the Savannah Visitors’ Center.
    If you like museums Savannah has a number of fantastic museums
    Savannah History Museum, one fantastic way to learn about the history of Georgia’s.
    Tybee Island Historical Society, Roundhouse Railroad Museum, Ships of the Sea Maritime Museum.

    Vinnie Van Go-Go’s and Mellow Mushroom Pizza Bakers are very tasty.
    Bistro-Savannah they have a terrific meal and fantastic atmosphere and service. If you will go try the Crispy Scored Flounder :-)

  3. Georgia has lots of outdoor things that you can do. Its year round nice weather makes it especially excellent for camping and all other forms of out door recreation. You should check out Retro Bus. They rent out vintage vw campers and have a excellent destinations page.

    Have breakfast at Huey’s and dinner at the River House. Both are located on River Street in Savannah. There are lots of tours including horse drawn carriage, and haunting tours. The Pirate House is a “haunted” restaurant would not eat there. Very pricey and the food not so fantastic. Did have a spooky feel to it though. Do a small research before you go and it will make downtown very fascinating! Have fun!
