where is a good house rental for vacation in the carolina’s or georgia?

we are celebrating our 1 year anniversary and looking to rent a house that is on a lake for boating/fishing; areas for hiking/running and close to golf course for lessons. Price is not an obstacle; we want a nice area/home to rent from october 15-20th. also, what is the temperature down there that time of year

I would specifically recommend the New Bern, NC area. I live not too far from there and can tell you there are some nice places to rent on the Neuse River. Take a look at the Fairfield Harbor area http://www.fairfieldharbourhomes.com/golf%20and%20waterfront.html
Just a few weeks ago, we rented a condo in the Harbourside II part of the Harbor and we loved it! During the dates you listed for your visit, the temperature will be quite comfortable, I would say somewhere between the upper 60’s to mid 70’s.
Hope this helps!
Blue Ridge, Georgia is a gorgeous place to celebrate your anniversary. There are many cabin rentals to choose from; basic back in the woods type with limited ammenities to luxury cabin with everything from game rooms to upscale log furniture, wood burning fireplace and hot tub on screen porch and more. October is probably the prettiest month as it is leaf season. The weather, if I remember correctly in the 50’s.
I have a gorgeous mountian cabin but it is mountain view, not on a lake. Here are a few sites you where you can find many cabins to choose from:
